Chinese New Year Parade At Expo City Dubai Debuts Seven-Star Constellation On February 8
The Consulate General of China in Dubai confirms that the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade will be held at Expo City Dubai on 8th February at 15:00. The event is described as the largest edition so far and is planned to involve activities across all seven emirates.
During a press briefing, Consul General Ou Boqian presented the programme and preparations for the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade. Ou Boqian explained that the parade aligns with a key year in China’s development and coincides with the second China–Arab States Summit, underlining its importance for China–UAE relations and wider regional cooperation.

The 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade is structured under the concept "Parade, Temple Fair and Exhibition". Plans include an opening ceremony, a central parade, cultural performances, a New Year concert and several themed exhibition zones. Nearly 40 marching formations, more than 10 floats and over 3,000 performers are scheduled to participate alongside a broad festive market area.
The festive market of the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade will feature Chinese cuisine, hands-on intangible cultural heritage activities and interactive technology displays. Visitors are expected to experience both traditional crafts and new digital formats, as organisers bring together heritage presentations and modern visitor engagement tools within Expo City Dubai.
Ou Boqian said the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade will, for the first time, extend its structure to all seven emirates through a "Seven-Star Constellation" format. Under the theme "From tradition to future", organisers plan displays of autonomous vehicles, robotics and other technological achievements alongside cultural presentations.
The 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade is organised by the Embassy of China in the UAE, the Consulate General of China in Dubai and Expo City Dubai. Several UAE and Chinese cultural, commercial and media entities are providing support, creating a multi-agency framework to manage logistics, programming and communication for the event.

Najeeb Mohammed Al Ali, Executive Director of Expo City Dubai Authority, stated that Expo City offers a suitable setting for celebrating shared values and deepening cultural ties, adding that the event shows the growing friendship and cooperation between the UAE and China. Activities linked to the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade will also extend beyond the main venue.
According to Mohammed Feras Arayqat, Assistant Vice President at Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, celebrations related to the 2026 Warm Spring, Happy New Year Grand Parade will spread across Dubai. Plans include cultural performances, retail promotions, dining experiences and landmark projections, emphasising the shared cultural symbolism of the Year of the Horse in both Chinese and Emirati traditions.
