Expo Centre Sharjah Engages In Global Business Dialogue At 54th WTCA Forum

The 54th annual World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) Global Business Forum (GBF), hosted by the World Trade Centre Bengaluru in India, recently became a pivotal meeting ground for over 245 attendees from across the globe. These attendees, including prominent business figures, exhibition industry professionals, and CEOs, represented 110 WTC locations from 36 countries and territories across 52 different industry sectors. Among the distinguished participants was Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS) and a board member of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), representing the World Trade Centre Sharjah.

During this significant event, Al Midfa was appointed as a member of the WTCA Regional Advisory Council for the Middle East and Africa region. This appointment is a testament to the influential role and successful track record of the Emirate of Sharjah, particularly through the Expo Centre, in organizing leading events, conferences, and exhibitions on both regional and international stages.

The forum's discussions revolved around the critical need for unified international efforts to support the business community, promote economic development, foster innovation, and enhance creativity within the conferences and specialized events sectors. A significant emphasis was placed on enhancing the global exhibition sector’s ability to embrace technology and digital transformation within its operational frameworks.

Al Midfa engaged in discussions with various businessmen and CEOs on how expanding the exhibition sector's objectives can support business communities by organizing specialized events in different economic and commercial fields. He highlighted the importance of knowledge-sharing between exhibition centres worldwide, noting its role in fostering business tourism and strengthening the exhibition and conference industry.

Expressing his enthusiasm about his new role within the WTCA Regional Advisory Council for the Middle East and Africa region, Al Midfa stated, "This appointment reaffirms the prestigious position and crucial role played by the Emirate of Sharjah, represented by the Expo Centre, in the exhibition industry at regional and international levels." He further reiterated his commitment to promoting the exhibition industry in both the Middle East and Africa.

The CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah also noted that the forum served as an ideal platform for discussing innovative work mechanisms to add value to the exhibitions and events sector. This includes developing sustainability practices and enhancing reliance on technology. Al Midfa’s appointment and active participation underscore Sharjah’s pivotal role in advancing the global exhibition sector through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
