Expeditors Signs Agreement To Launch New Facility At Dubai South's Logistics District

Dubai South, a major urban development focused on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has partnered with Expeditors International of Washington, Inc., a global logistics leader. They have signed an agreement to establish a new facility in Dubai South’s Logistics District. This move highlights Expeditors' dedication to expanding in the region to meet the rising demand for advanced logistics solutions.

The signing event was attended by key figures from both organisations. From Dubai South were Khalifa Al Zaffin and Mohsen Ahmad. Representing Expeditors were Jeffrey S. Musser, K Murali, Mathew Joseph, and Wael Hanna. The facility will cover about 23,200 square meters and is set to begin operations in February 2025.

This new facility will enhance Expeditors’ warehousing and fulfilment services. It will offer inventory management, kitting, labelling, order management, compliance inspections, return programmes, transportation management, and pick-and-pack services. Additionally, it will provide inspection and quality control functions.

The container freight station at the facility will focus on consolidating shipments and providing export services. It will also handle unit load device breakdowns. These capabilities are designed to streamline logistics operations effectively.

Mohsen Ahmad expressed satisfaction with the agreement with Expeditors. He highlighted that Dubai South offers an integrated ecosystem with state-of-the-art infrastructure and innovative logistics solutions. "We are driven by our mandate to support the government’s vision of establishing Dubai as a leading global logistics hub," he stated.

Jeffrey Musser emphasised the importance of this development for Expeditors' growth strategy. "This state-of-the-art facility reflects our unwavering commitment to meeting the growing demands of our customers while enhancing operational efficiency," he said. He acknowledged Dubai South’s strategic infrastructure development efforts.
