European Ryder Cup Heroes Tommy Fleetwood And Shane Lowry Confirmed For Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry are set to compete in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from 6-9 November at Yas Links. They will join Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Åberg, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard, Robert MacIntyre, and Alex Noren. This event marks the start of the DP World Tour Play-Offs on Yas Island.
Fleetwood arrives in the UAE with impressive form. He recently won the DP World India Championship by two strokes over Keita Nakajima. This victory adds to his career highlights, including a memorable PGA TOUR win at the TOUR Championship in August. Fleetwood became only the second Englishman to win the FedExCup, following Justin Rose.

Fleetwood's performance at the 2025 Ryder Cup was remarkable. He was Europe's standout player in their 15-13 win over the United States at Bethpage Black in New York. This victory marked the first time an away team has won since 2012. Fleetwood excelled by winning four matches and losing just one.
"It's always special to play at home in the UAE," said Fleetwood, who has lived in Dubai since 2022. "Yas Links is a great golf course and the atmosphere is always incredible." He looks forward to starting the DP World Tour Play-Offs with family and friends supporting him.
Lowry played a crucial role at Bethpage Black by securing a vital half-point for Europe during a tense Sunday singles session. The Irishman is familiar with success in the UAE, having won the Falcon Trophy in 2019 at this championship. That year also saw him triumph at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
Lowry's inclusion on Luke Donald's European Ryder Cup team ensures his participation in this penultimate Rolex Series event of the season. "Abu Dhabi has always been a great place to play golf," said Lowry. "I'll be giving it everything to finish the year on a high."
Exciting Competition Awaits
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and DP World Tour. It serves as the first event of their end-of-season showpiece leading into Dubai's DP World Tour Championship where they crown their Race to Dubai champion.
This championship returns for its 20th edition in 2025 with top players competing for spots in Dubai's season-ending event next week. The top 70 available players on Race to Dubai will battle it out here while only top 50 qualify further into DP World Tour Championship.
