Etihad Credit Insurance Recognised With Deal Of The Year Award At TXF Global 2025 Conference

Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), the UAE's federal export credit company, recently sponsored the TXF Global 2025 conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. This event, held from 10th to 12th June, is a major gathering for international trade and project finance experts. It attracted over 1,500 attendees from various sectors worldwide.

ECI's involvement in this conference underscores its commitment to boosting its global footprint and reinforcing its role as a key player in supporting the UAE’s non-oil exports. This aligns with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision, which aims to double UAE exports and broaden their reach in global markets through enhanced financial partnerships.

ECI Wins Deal of the Year Award

During the event, ECI received the "TXF Commodity Trader Export Finance Deal of the Year 2024" award. This accolade was given for its significant contribution to Trafigura's exports, a leading company in the commodities sector. The award highlights a successful collaboration involving ECI, Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), and Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (Natixis CIB).

This partnership facilitated Trafigura’s acquisition of non-oil commodities originating from the UAE, enhancing their integration into international supply chains. The initiative showcases ECI's role in promoting UAE products globally.

Raja Al Mazrouei, CEO of Etihad Credit Insurance, stated, "Our participation in TXF Global 2025, a key platform in the export finance sector, underscores ECI’s dedication to cultivating and strengthening strategic alliances as well as keeping pace with the evolving global trade dynamics." She emphasised that receiving this award reaffirms ECI’s vital role in supporting non-oil exports through innovative financing solutions.

Al Mazrouei further added that this recognition reflects their success in executing a unique transaction with partners like ADEX, FAB, and Natixis. The initiative is crucial for expanding essential commodity exports and highlights the competitiveness of the UAE’s trade environment.

Exploring Future Opportunities

The TXF Global 2025 conference included high-level discussions on trade finance's future and sustainable financing for green projects. It also featured insights from export credit agencies worldwide. During these sessions, ECI engaged in bilateral meetings with international stakeholders to explore new collaboration opportunities with financial institutions and development banks.

These interactions aim to strengthen partnerships with global institutions and deliver services that empower Emirati companies to expand confidently into international markets. ECI remains committed to fostering such collaborations to support national economic growth.

The conference served as an important platform for ECI to showcase its efforts in driving economic diversification through strategic alliances and innovative financing solutions. By participating actively in such events, ECI continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing the UAE's presence on the global stage.
