Etihad Airways Enhances Inflight Experience With 'We Speak Arabic' Language Series
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has recently made an exciting announcement that is set to enhance the inflight experience for Etihad Airways passengers. The Centre's acclaimed ‘We Speak Arabic’ series is now accessible through Etihad’s E-BOX inflight entertainment system. This initiative presents a dynamic and efficient method for learning the Arabic language, featuring engaging episodes that not only aim to improve linguistic skills but also provide insights into Arab heritage.
This collaboration between ALC and Etihad Airways is designed to make learning Arabic more accessible to non-native speakers, leveraging innovative digital content to foster both language skills and cultural understanding. Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of ALC, emphasized the significance of this partnership in promoting the Arabic language as a key to unlocking knowledge, culture, and creativity. He highlighted that offering the ‘We Speak Arabic’ series onboard Etihad flights underscores Abu Dhabi’s role as a literary and cultural hub, while also promoting the UAE capital as a prime tourism destination.

Amina Taher, VP Brand, Marketing and Sponsorships at Etihad Airways, shared her views on the partnership, stating that travel should serve as an opportunity for discovery, learning, and connection. She noted that integrating the ‘We Speak Arabic’ series into Etihad’s E-BOX system aligns with the airline’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience by connecting them with the culture and heritage of the region. Taher expressed hope that this initiative would facilitate new experiences and connections for Etihad’s guests.
Prior to this collaboration, the ‘We Speak Arabic’ series was available through short clips on ALC’s social media channels and full episodes on the Centre’s website and YouTube channel. With a total of 23 clips and episodes, the series offers a comprehensive learning experience for individuals at various levels of proficiency in Arabic.
This partnership represents a significant step towards advancing ALC’s mission to promote the Arabic language globally. By making these educational resources available to Etihad Airways passengers, ALC and Etihad are working together to bridge cultural gaps and enhance understanding through language.
