Eswatini Partners With UAE To Train 300,000 Programmers For Digital Job Opportunities
The Minister of Information, Communications, and Technology of Eswatini, Savannah Maziya, highlighted the significant progress in collaboration with the UAE. This partnership focuses on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things to drive digital transformation. During the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai, she shared these insights with the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Since September last year, the UAE has trained 50 teachers from Eswatini in advanced technologies. This initiative is part of a broader effort to qualify 300,000 programmers. The goal is to empower young people and create new opportunities in the digital job market.

Maziya praised the strategic partnership with the UAE for enabling her country to exchange expertise in digital policies and regulations. This collaboration ensures a balance between digital security and attracting investments while maintaining a flexible business environment.
The cooperation extends to enhancing law enforcement capabilities in tackling cybercrimes. It also explores remote job opportunities for Eswatini citizens within Emirati companies. This approach allows national talents to be utilised without requiring migration.
Eswatini is establishing a specialised academy offering training programmes in programming, artificial intelligence, and space technology. This initiative is in collaboration with the UAE and aims to keep pace with technological advancements.
The impact of these initiatives on economic and social development is expected to be significant. By focusing on education and training, both countries aim to enhance their digital landscapes.
Maziya emphasised that this cooperation opens new avenues for growth and innovation. The partnership not only strengthens digital capabilities but also fosters an environment conducive to investment and development.
