EPI Extends Contract With Airbus Atlantic To Manufacture Flight-Critical Airframes Until 2031

EPI, a key player in the UAE's precision engineering sector, has renewed its contract with Airbus Atlantic. This agreement, now valid until 2031, involves producing critical airframes for Airbus's A320 and A330 programmes. EPI will employ advanced technology, including CNC machining up to 7 metres long, and automated processes for painting and inspections.

The collaboration between EPI and Airbus Atlantic includes using EPI's latest technology for manufacturing stability. This involves in-process and final inspections using a 7m Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), which ensures precise measurements. The work package covers essential components like fuselage frames and floor beams for both single-aisle (A320, A321) and long-range (A330, A340) aircraft.

EPI and Airbus Atlantic Extend Contract

Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, commented on the contract extension: "This contract extension highlights our proven expertise and underscores the trust our partners place in us to achieve their strategic objectives. It also supports the shared goals of EPI and Airbus Atlantic, bolsters the UAE aviation industry, generates value exchange, and fortifies local manufacturing capabilities through the 'Make It in the Emirates' initiative."

Over the next seven years, EPI will significantly contribute to Airbus' expansion efforts, particularly for the Single Aisle Programme. The company is committed to meeting Airbus Atlantic's high standards by focusing on skill levels, technology advancements, systems integration, certifications, and accreditations.

This partnership not only strengthens local manufacturing capabilities but also aligns with broader initiatives like "Make It in the Emirates." By enhancing local production skills and technology use, EPI aims to support strategic objectives while fostering value exchange within the UAE aviation sector.

The extended agreement with Airbus Atlantic demonstrates confidence in EPI's ability to deliver high-quality components. This collaboration is expected to boost the UAE's aerospace industry by leveraging advanced technologies and skilled workforce development.
