Environmental Conservation As A Fundamental Tradition In The UAE: Insights From EAD
Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD), highlighted that environmental sustainability is deeply rooted in cultural values and standards. She noted that preserving the environment and safeguarding natural resources are integral to the UAE's heritage, a legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The UAE celebrates National Environment Day annually on 4th February, reaffirming its dedication to environmental responsibility. This event aligns with global conservation efforts and serves as a call to action for environmental protection, awareness, social responsibility, and sustainable innovation support.

Al Dhaheri stated that the country's environmental initiatives receive unwavering support from its leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This backing ensures that environmental sustainability remains a national duty passed down through generations, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's global standing in environmental protection.
