Entries Now Open For The Upcoming 24th Dubai Marathon In January 2025

With less than 100 days to go, organisers are working with the Dubai Sports Council and government bodies to finalise preparations for the 24th Dubai Marathon. Scheduled for Sunday, 12th January 2025, this event is known as the fastest marathon in the region. It will feature three races: a 4km, a 10km, and the classic marathon distance of 42.195km.

Entries have been open for several months on their official website. "We have been excited by the enthusiasm of runners who have already signed up many months in advance," said Race Director Peter Connerton. "With around 12 weeks to go to the race day itself, our focus is on delivering a race and infrastructure that will appeal to elite runners and amateur competitors alike. Thanks to our colleagues at the Dubai Sports Council and government bodies such as Dubai RTA and Dubai Police, we are on track for another memorable event."

Dubai Marathon Entries Open for January 2025

On 12th January, participants from across the globe will run along Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh, and Umm Suqeim Road. This marathon offers international athletes a chance to compete alongside top runners on flat roads ideal for setting records. The event aims to attract more elite runners and visitors worldwide.

"As we plan the next edition of the Dubai Marathon, our hope is to welcome even more elite runners and international visitors who travel from around the globe to take part," said Dubai Sports Council Secretary-General Saeed Hareb. "Dubai RTA, Dubai Police, and emergency services are all key components in staging an event that covers such a large part of the city, and we welcome their support for the Dubai Sports Council and the organisers of the Dubai Marathon."

The Dubai Marathon has been a fixture on the international running calendar for nearly 25 years. It continues to highlight emerging talent in marathon running. Earlier this year, Ethiopian Tigist Ketema set a record for the fastest women's debut marathon time at 2:16:07 before winning at Berlin Marathon in September.

Teenager Addisu Gobena also made headlines by winning his debut men's race with a time of 2:05:01. "Dubai is well-established as a marathon where up-and-coming elites can truly make an impression on the athletics scene," added Connerton. "Tigist winning on her debut in Dubai and then carrying that form to Berlin later in the year is a perfect example of Dubai’s position as a platform for the best young runners in the sport."

Support from Key Sponsors

The upcoming marathon receives backing from various sponsors including adidas, Channel 4 Radio Network, ITP Media Group, Dubai Duty Free, Bisleri Water, along with local authorities like Dubai RTA and Police. This support ensures smooth execution across significant parts of the city.
