ENOC Marks Completion Of Horizon JPUT Pipeline Connectivity Project In Singapore

Horizon Terminals Limited (HTL), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has completed the Horizon JPUT Pipeline Connectivity Project in Singapore. This initiative, led by Horizon Singapore Terminals Pte Ltd (HSTPL) and Jurong Port Universal Terminal Pte Ltd (JPUT), is a major step in HTL’s global growth and Singapore’s oil infrastructure development. It boosts operational efficiency and cuts costs for customers.

The project involved constructing a new pipe rack linking both terminals. It features a 24-inch pipeline for Fuel Oil and a 20-inch pipeline for Clean Petroleum Products. This advanced setup reduces operational risks and significantly shortens transfer times between the terminals. The first successful pipeline transfer occurred in January 2024, providing considerable cost savings to customers.

Completion of Horizon JPUT Pipeline Project

Established on Jurong Island in 2006, Horizon Singapore Terminals has maintained a strong partnership with Jurong Port Universal Terminal since its inception next door in 2007. Their collaboration began with a Mutual Aid agreement and the construction of a firewater line in 2009. This trust-based relationship naturally evolved into the current pipeline connectivity project, benefiting both terminals' customers.

The new pipeline decreases reliance on short-range shipping operations, reducing marine traffic at the port. This change enhances the safety of crucial long-range vessel movements while also lowering carbon emissions, promoting more sustainable operations.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC and Chairman of Horizon Singapore Terminals Pte Ltd (HSTPL), highlighted the project's significance: "The successful completion of the Horizon JPUT Pipeline marks a pivotal moment not only for Singapore’s energy infrastructure but also for the region. This project strengthens our global footprint and reinforces ENOC’s position as a global energy leader."

Loh Wei, CEO of Jurong Port Universal Terminal, expressed satisfaction with the outcome: "JPUT is delighted with the successful completion of the inter-terminal pipeline connection. This new infrastructure strengthens our partnership with Horizon Singapore Terminals, expands service offerings for our customers, and enhances the collaborative ecosystem between our terminals."

This development represents an important milestone for both HTL's international expansion efforts and Singapore's petroleum infrastructure advancements. By enhancing connectivity between terminals, it supports efficient operations while contributing to environmental sustainability goals.
