EMSTEEL And E& Collaborate To Launch First Private 5G Network Pilot In Manufacturing Industry
EMSTEEL Group (ADX: EMSTEEL), a major steel and building materials producer in the region, has successfully piloted a private 5G network in collaboration with e& UAE, the telecom division of global technology group e&. This initiative is part of EMSTEEL's Industry 4.0 goals, aligning with the UAE's Operation 300bn strategy to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in its production facilities.
The private 5G network offers high-speed coverage across EMSTEEL’s complex industrial sites, overcoming traditional connectivity challenges. It ensures data security by keeping information within EMSTEEL’s infrastructure. This network supports high-tech projects like the Asset Insight platform, which was the first application demonstrated on it.

The Asset Insight app allows workers to use industry-grade tablets to scan QR codes on equipment for real-time access to asset documentation, maintenance history, and sensor data. This app also facilitates immediate maintenance requests, reducing downtime and repair costs while improving maintenance efficiency and safety.
Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Group CEO of EMSTEEL, stated: "Our partnership with e& UAE to launch the World’s first private 5G network in manufacturing represents a landmark achievement in EMSTEEL’s digital transformation journey. It is more than a technological upgrade; it is a fundamental shift in how we operate, innovate, and ensure the safety of our people and assets."
Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, commented: "This transformative private 5G deployment with EMSTEEL exemplifies our vision of enabling the industries of tomorrow through cutting-edge connectivity. By delivering enterprise-grade network infrastructure tailored for demanding manufacturing environments, we are unlocking possibilities for smart factories, predictive maintenance, and AI-driven operations."
This pilot project highlights EMSTEEL's dedication to investing in advanced technologies that enhance operational performance. The company aims to strengthen its position as a leader in low-carbon steel production and sustainable building materials globally.
The deployment of this innovative technology extends beyond manufacturing into commercial operations, customer experience, health and safety, sustainability initiatives, data utility management, research and development efforts among other areas.
