ADPF Celebrates 41% Increase In Emirati Women Registrations

The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF) has reported a 41 percent rise in the number of Emirati women registered with the Fund from both government and private sectors in Abu Dhabi since its inception until mid-2024. This increase highlights the UAE's dedication to empowering Emirati women across various fields.

In an official statement celebrating Emirati Women's Day, the Fund disclosed that 61,408 Emirati women are insured by the Fund since its establishment. This figure represents 52 percent of all insured citizens in Abu Dhabi, a significant jump from just 11 percent in 2000.

41% Rise in Emirati Women ADPF Registrations

As of June 2024, data shows that 39,791 Emirati women are employed in the government sector, while 21,617 work in the private sector. The percentage of women working in the private sector and registered with the Fund has grown by 13 percent over the past three years, indicating their expanding roles in various economic activities.

The statistics also reveal that 5,350 Emirati women have retired, making up 30 percent of all retirees registered with the Fund. These retirees have an average service length of 20 years and typically retire at age 48, compared to men who retire at age 55.

Emirati women have made significant contributions across numerous sectors. Leading areas include healthcare, social services, and education, followed by finance, insurance, and information technology. This broad participation underscores their vital role in Abu Dhabi's diverse economy.

The number of Emirati women with over 25 years of service reached 1,438 by June this year. This trend showcases their dedication to balancing professional responsibilities with family duties.

Al Nuaimi highlighted that the unwavering support from the nation's wise leadership is crucial for recognising women's contributions to society. He stated that their achievements reflect their determination and deep commitment to national development.

"The exceptional achievements of Emirati women are the driving force behind transforming dreams into reality and the foundation upon which the future of the nation is built," he affirmed.

This data indicates that Emirati women's presence is not confined to specific economic areas or professions but spans a wide array of sectors. Their involvement is a clear indication that they have become key contributors across all sectors in Abu Dhabi.

The report underscores how Emirati women's increasing participation aligns with broader national goals. Their growing numbers reflect ongoing efforts to integrate them into all aspects of economic life.
