Conference To Celebrate Emirati Women’s Achievements And Future Role Begins Wednesday
The "Emirati Women and Future-Making" conference is set to begin next Wednesday, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the "Mother of the Nation." Sheikha Fatima is the Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF). The event is organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence as part of Emirati Women’s Day celebrations.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will inaugurate the conference. Alia Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, will also participate in this significant event. The conference aims to highlight the pioneering role of women in Emirati society by showcasing their remarkable achievements across various fields.

The first session, titled "Emirati Women and Modern Technological Achievements," will discuss how Emirati women are shaping the UAE's future. Speakers include Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Director of Cybersecurity Governance Risk Management at Dubai Electronic Security Centre; Najla Al Midfa, CEO of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre; and Omniyat Al Hajeri, Executive Director of Community Health Sector at AD Public Health Centre.
The second session focuses on "The Role of Emirati Women in Enhancing Social Cohesion through the Values of Tolerance and Coexistence." This session will feature Layla Al Hayas, Executive Director at Abu Dhabi's Department of Community Development; Fatima Al Kaabi, Deputy Chairperson of NHRI; and Hana Al Rostamani, CEO at First Abu Dhabi Bank.
During the conference, Sheikh Nahyan will honour influential women who have significantly contributed to Emirati women's progress. Awards will be presented to Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions; Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of GWU; among others.
Sheikh Nahyan praised H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her pivotal role in advancing women's empowerment objectives. He emphasised her esteemed status and vision for women's empowerment as fundamental to Emirati women's success. Her continuous support has been instrumental in promoting women's rights and capabilities globally.
This conference underscores the vital contributions of Emirati women in various sectors while celebrating their achievements. It aims to inspire further progress by recognising those who have paved the way for future generations.
