Ali Humaid Al Loughani, an Emirati student, has been recognised for his innovative contributions at the 6th International Inventions and Trade Expo in London. Held from 24th to 26th September, the event saw Al Loughani receive the ‘Leadership Medal’ and two gold medals. His projects, supported by Digital Dubai, focused on using AI and IoT technologies to tackle marine safety and sustainability issues.

Despite being the youngest among 285 global participants, Al Loughani's achievements underscore the potential of Emirati talent in advancing eco-friendly solutions worldwide. His work highlights Dubai's dedication to nurturing innovation and talent within its community.

Emirati Student Wins Leadership Medal in London

Al Loughani showcased two key projects at the expo: the ‘Ship Accident Prevention Project’ and the ‘Hydropower Project’. The former uses artificial intelligence to enhance maritime safety by monitoring real-time data on sea conditions, ship speed, and weather. This system aims to prevent accidents and reduce environmental damage such as oil spills, thereby protecting marine ecosystems.

The ‘Hydropower Project’ seeks to develop a hybrid energy system that combines solar power with hydrogen fuel cells. By integrating solar panels, hydrogen fuel cells, and an electrolysis generator, this project converts solar energy into electricity. It aims to decrease reliance on fossil fuels and support clean energy initiatives.

In addition to his medals at the expo, Al Loughani received accolades from several international institutions. These included recognition from the Inventors Association of Romania, Norton University of Cambodia, and the National University of Science and Technology in Bucharest. Each organisation acknowledged his innovative contributions to technology and sustainability.

Previously, Al Loughani secured second place in the young inventors’ category at Malaysia's 34th Technology, Innovation, and Invention Exhibition. This achievement further solidifies his reputation as a promising young inventor with a focus on sustainable solutions.

Future Opportunities for Development

Digital Dubai is facilitating a scientific visit for Al Loughani to Dallas, Texas. There he will participate in the Best Young Inventors Award and Dr. Robot competition. This opportunity will provide him with mentorship and resources to refine his ideas further while pursuing patent registration for his innovations.

This initiative reflects Digital Dubai's commitment to supporting creative endeavours within its community by offering young talents like Al Loughani opportunities for growth and development on an international stage.
