Emirati Relief Team Provides Essential Ramadan Aid To Refugees In Jordan
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has once again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian aid by launching a series of initiatives aimed at supporting Syrian refugees during the holy month of Ramadan. Under the supervision of Hassan Salem Al-Qaidi, Head of the Emirati Relief Team in Jordan, the ERC has successfully distributed essential food parcels and conducted a complimentary medical campaign for those residing in the Emirati-Jordanian refugee camp in Mrajeeb Al Fhood and for several underprivileged families living in temporary tents nearby.
The distribution initiative saw 1,226 families within the camp and an additional 60 families in the surrounding temporary tents receive vital food supplies. These parcels, crucial for the upcoming Ramadan period, included staples such as rice, sugar, flour, among other basic necessities. This effort is part of the ERC's broader annual Ramadan project, which aims to alleviate the hardships faced by refugees during this significant time.

In addition to addressing nutritional needs, the UAE Relief Team's medical squad embarked on a complimentary medical campaign. This initiative provided much-needed medical examinations and distributed medicines to families requiring healthcare services. Such comprehensive support underscores the ERC's holistic approach to aiding those in need, ensuring that both physical health and nutritional well-being are addressed.
Beyond immediate relief efforts, the ERC's Ramadan project encompasses several other initiatives designed to foster a sense of community and support amongst the refugees. Among these is the organisation of a Ramadan sports tournament, which offers a platform for engagement and physical activity. Moreover, as Eid approaches, the ERC plans to distribute clothing to refugees within the camp, adding a touch of joy and celebration to their lives during this festive period.
The ERC's ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid in Jordan highlights the organization's dedication to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly during significant religious occasions such as Ramadan. Through these initiatives, the ERC not only addresses immediate needs but also contributes to fostering a sense of normalcy and community among Syrian refugees.
This comprehensive approach to humanitarian aid demonstrates how targeted assistance and community engagement initiatives can significantly impact the lives of those displaced by conflict. As Ramadan approaches, such efforts by organizations like the Emirates Red Crescent are invaluable in ensuring that Syrian refugees can observe this important time with dignity and support.
