Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Highlights Importance Of UAE Media At 10th Emirati Media Forum
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, attended the 10th Emirati Media Forum at Dubai's Museum of the Future. H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, joined him. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the event gathered prominent figures from the UAE media sector.
The forum served as a platform for national media professionals to discuss advancing UAE media and exchanging ideas. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed praised the agenda for focusing on emerging media sectors and identifying new opportunities. He highlighted that investing in young talent is crucial for strengthening UAE media's global competitiveness.
Sheikh Ahmed stressed the importance of empowering youth in shaping UAE media's future. He noted that young Emiratis have a strong understanding of digital environments, making them ideal for redefining content innovatively. Media institutions should provide them with confidence and space to lead digital transformation.
During the event, Sheikh Ahmed met with key Emirati media personalities, including writers and editors-in-chief. He commended their professionalism and high-quality content production. His Highness emphasised that national media is vital for development, social awareness, and confidence in UAE leadership regionally and globally.
Sheikh Ahmed underscored the media's role as a bridge between government and society. He encouraged national outlets to support UAE strategies promoting sustainable development and national advancement. The sector's progress reflects leadership investment in talent, knowledge, and creativity.
The forum also featured the "Dubai Media Pioneers" exhibition celebrating Emirati media professionals who shaped Dubai’s media landscape. This initiative honours those who contributed significantly during a transformative period in Dubai’s modern development.
Honouring Media Organisations
H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed honoured local media organisations at the forum with Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council and President of DPC. Recognised entities included Dubai Media Incorporated, Emirates News Agency (WAM), Abu Dhabi Media Network, among others.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri stated that recognising national media institutions highlights their dedication to UAE’s development. She noted that Emirati media continues to adapt to technological advancements while remaining attuned to societal priorities.
Zayed & Rashid Campaign
On the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Ahmed visited the "Zayed & Rashid Campaign" stand with Sheikha Latifa. Organised by Brand Dubai for its second year, it celebrates founding fathers Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum through iconic photographs and traditional art motifs.
The campaign runs from 3rd November to 2nd December during National Month celebrations. It reflects founding principles fostering national identity while showcasing UAE’s historical achievements.
The Emirati Media Forum examined ways to strengthen national media competitiveness while promoting sustainable development and societal awareness. Maryam Al Mulla from Dubai Press Club congratulated honoured entities for fostering public trust through credibility and objectivity.
