Emirates Signs Seven MoUs To Boost Inbound Tourism From Key Global Destinations
Emirates has entered into seven new Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with tourism boards and ministries from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Seychelles, Bahamas, Warsaw, and Nigeria. These agreements aim to enhance visitor numbers and increase the attractiveness of these destinations. The collaborations were announced during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), highlighting Emirates' commitment to promoting global tourism.
Emirates has renewed its partnership with Tourism Malaysia, reinforcing its dedication to this Southeast Asian hub. The airline plans to promote Malaysia across its global network through joint marketing efforts. This includes advertising campaigns that highlight Malaysia's natural beauty, cultural heritage, and unique culinary offerings. Additionally, Emirates will organise familiarisation trips for media and travel agents from key markets.

The partnership between Emirates and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has been extended for another three years. This collaboration focuses on enhancing tourism and trade in Sri Lanka through joint initiatives like excursions and familiarisation trips. In 2024, over 2 million tourists visited Sri Lanka, with Emirates transporting more than 240,000 passengers from major markets such as Russia, the UK, Germany, Australia, China, and the US.
Promoting Morocco's Tourism Ambitions
Emirates is working with the Moroccan National Tourist Office to boost inbound tourism from key destinations within its network. This partnership aligns with Morocco's strategy to double its tourism sector size by 2026. In 2024 alone, Morocco welcomed a record-breaking 17.4 million tourists. The collaboration aims to attract 17.5 million visitors annually by 2026 while creating 200,000 new jobs in the sector.
Seychelles Partnership Renewal
Since 2013, Emirates has supported Seychelles' travel industry through a longstanding partnership. The renewed MoU focuses on increasing tourist traffic from key feeder markets within Emirates' network. In 2024, Seychelles saw over 350,000 tourist arrivals thanks to joint marketing campaigns targeting European markets like Austria.
Enhancing Bahamas' Appeal
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas is collaborating with Emirates on promotional campaigns aimed at increasing tourist arrivals. These efforts include providing tour operators and travel agents in target markets with promotional materials and incentives. The goal is to showcase The Bahamas as an attractive destination for holidaymakers worldwide.
Warsaw's Cultural Promotion
For the first time, Emirates is partnering with the Warsaw Tourism Organisation to develop inbound passenger traffic from key markets in its network. Joint advertising campaigns and familiarisation trips for media representatives are planned to enhance awareness of Warsaw's cultural richness and position it as a central European gateway.
Nigeria's Tourism Development
Emirates is collaborating with Nigeria's Ministry of Art Culture Tourism and the Creative Economy to increase international visitors to Nigeria. This partnership supports Nigeria’s tourism roadmap by attracting visitors from over 140 destinations in Emirates’ network. An interline agreement between Emirates and Air Peace further expands reach within Nigeria.
The partnerships forged by Emirates at ATM demonstrate a strategic approach to boosting global tourism through collaborative efforts with various countries' tourism boards and ministries. These initiatives not only aim to increase visitor numbers but also enhance each destination's appeal across different markets worldwide.
