Emirates Continues To Back US Open Tennis With Extended Partnership And Community Initiatives
The USTA and Emirates have renewed their partnership, extending Emirates' support for the US Open Tennis Championships. This marks the 13th consecutive year of Emirates being the Official Airline Partner of the event. The collaboration aims to benefit local communities across the United States.
The multi-year partnership includes launching the Emirates "Force for Good" court refurbishment initiative. This programme will start during the 2024 US Open at Brooklyn's De Hostos Playground courts, with three courts set to be unveiled on September 7. Over time, this initiative will provide under-resourced youth with access to tennis and education.

De Hostos Playground is home to the Kings County Tennis League, which serves hundreds of youth in Brooklyn. It is one of over 250 National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapters nationwide supported by the USTA Foundation. The refurbishment programme will enhance facilities and support educational programming.
Emirates' "Force For Good" initiative will annually donate to the USTA Foundation. This partnership aims to resurface courts at underserved parks, schools, and community centres in cities served by Emirates in America. The funding will support tennis and education programmes on these rejuvenated courts, benefiting local youth and their families.
Boutros Boutros, Emirates' Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand, expressed excitement about the renewed partnership: "Emirates is delighted to be back as the Official Airline of the US Open where we share the passion for tennis and sports with our global fans."
Enhanced Fan Experience
The airline's partnership with the USTA also includes prominent brand visibility at the US Open. This involves fan-favourite activities like post-match Emirates Ball Flight and on-site activations such as handing out caps on Emirates Day. Additionally, they sponsor Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day.
Customers flying with Emirates can watch US Open matches live onboard through Live TV. The airline will also unveil its revamped hospitality suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The luxury suite spans 1,358 square feet and offers premium dining and exclusive beverages.
Boutros Boutros added: "This is our 13th year of partnering with the USTA and we are especially proud to be celebrating our renewed commitment to the prestigious event by introducing a new community initiative that will touch the lives of youth in communities throughout the US."
He continued: "The refurbishment of tennis courts and support of training programmes is a meaningful way to inspire young tennis lovers and future stars." He highlighted that it is rewarding for Emirates to give back to communities they serve in America.
The first three refurbished courts in Brooklyn will be unveiled where Emirates' US operations began 20 years ago. This initiative aims to nurture talent among young people by providing better facilities and training opportunities.
The extended partnership between Emirates and USTA underscores their commitment to supporting tennis at both professional and grassroots levels. By enhancing facilities and providing educational opportunities, they aim to make a positive impact on communities across America.
