Emirates Strengthens Partnerships With ICCA And IDP Education While Renewing Ties With Huawei
Emirates has recently formed new alliances with the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), IDP Education, and expanded its collaboration with Huawei. These partnerships, announced during the Arabian Travel Market 2025, aim to enhance customer experiences and provide exclusive benefits across various segments. The airline seeks to offer seamless access to its digital solutions through these strategic collaborations.
Emirates and ICCA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost global business events. This partnership aims to create synergies between air travel and international meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). The agreement supports Dubai's goal of becoming a top destination for international conferences by facilitating connectivity for association meetings.

The airline has also partnered with IDP Education to improve travel experiences for students and educators. This collaboration will strengthen Emirates' presence in key education centres within its network. IDP Education is renowned for helping students achieve their study abroad aspirations through a vast network of placement offices in 35 countries.
Through this partnership, both organisations will offer special fare programmes for students aged 16 to 31. Additional benefits include extra baggage allowance and flexible booking options. Initially targeting students in the Middle East and North Africa, plans are underway to expand these offers across other key markets.
Emirates has renewed its partnership with Huawei, focusing on digital innovation initiatives that enhance brand visibility globally. The MoU outlines a framework for joint campaigns, media presence, co-branded content, and customer engagement strategies. This collaboration primarily targets the Middle East, North Africa, and mainland China.
Under this agreement, Emirates will be among the first airlines to adopt new Huawei services like the HarmonyOS NEXT watch app. Both companies will continue developing the Emirates App on Huawei’s AppGallery platform to ensure consistent quality and user experience.
The tech giant will promote the Emirates–Huawei partnership through integrated communications such as press events and social media outreach. Huawei will also support Emirates’ upcoming Shenzhen route launch in July with coordinated promotional efforts.
Supporting Global Events
The MoU between Emirates and ICCA aligns with Dubai's ambition to host major international events. Each year, Dubai welcomes millions of visitors attending hundreds of significant conferences. The MICE sector plays a crucial role in supporting the emirate's D33 economic agenda by attracting global business events.
Emirates' collaboration with IDP Education includes exploring logistical support for regional and global events like conferences and fairs. The airline aims to leverage insights from these events to adapt its student programme further.
The partnership between Emirates and Huawei began in early 2020, expanding the user base of the Emirates App by making it available on Huawei’s smart devices via AppGallery. This ongoing collaboration continues to drive awareness across key markets.
These strategic partnerships reflect Emirates' commitment to enhancing customer experiences through innovative solutions while supporting Dubai's vision as a leading global hub for business events and education.
