Emirates Enhances Travel Options With Third Daily Flight To Mauritius Starting December 1

Emirates is set to introduce a third daily flight to Mauritius from 1st December. This move aims to bolster inbound tourism to the island. The new service, operated by a Boeing 777 as EK709/710, will enhance existing schedules. It will support Emirates customers' travel plans from over 140 destinations worldwide.

Currently, Emirates operates two daily flights to Mauritius using its A380 aircraft, designated as EK701/702 and EK703/704. The addition of the third service, in partnership with Air Mauritius, offers convenient timings for travellers. This ensures seamless connectivity for those journeying from the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas to this Indian Ocean destination.

Emirates Adds Third Daily Flight to Mauritius

The introduction of this additional service will increase capacity on the route by more than 30 percent. Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated that this expansion provides more flight options for both leisure and business travellers. "The additional daily service on our wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft will enable a more than 30 percent increase in capacity on the route," he said.

Since commencing scheduled services to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has transported over 8.8 million passengers and more than 126,000 tonnes of cargo on this route. The airline's operations have made significant contributions economically and socially to Mauritius.

Emirates' flights have directly contributed US$119 million and generated US$264 million in tourism receipts. Additionally, tourism-related spending has added US$530 million to the Mauritian economy. These operations have also facilitated the creation of approximately 3,600 jobs within the nation.

The codeshare arrangement with Air Mauritius further enhances travel itineraries for customers. This collaboration ensures that passengers can enjoy smooth connections when travelling to this popular holiday spot.

The strategic expansion aligns with Emirates' commitment to supporting tourism in Mauritius while offering enhanced travel options for its global customer base.
