EIF Celebrates Graduation Of Over 1,100 UAE Nationals From Ethraa Programme To Boost Emiratisation
The graduation ceremony for the second batch of UAE nationals in the "Ethraa" programme took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF), attended. The programme aims to boost Emiratisation in finance, with 1,103 graduates and 50 Bachelor of Science in Finance and Banking participants completing their training.
Over the past year, EIF has trained nearly 17,000 UAE nationals as part of its annual training plan. This includes professional programmes in banking and strategic leadership. The institute achieved record progress in 14 specialised learning pathways compared to six in 2023. These efforts align with the UAE's vision for a knowledge-based economy.
The event highlighted EIF's achievements in 2024, focusing on empowering national talent to support the UAE's vision for a sustainable economy. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, senior officials, CEOs from financial institutions, representatives from global financial agencies, academic institutions, and the CFA Institute.
Saif Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor of the UAE Central Bank for Banking Operations and Support Services and Vice Chairman of EIF's Board of Directors, emphasised the UAE's commitment to investing in Emirati talents. He noted that high-quality training programmes are crucial for enhancing skills and capabilities.
During the ceremony, Memoranda of Understanding were signed between EIF and Emirates Foundation and the Department of Government Enablement. These agreements aim to strengthen cooperation, exchange knowledge, and accelerate Emiratisation programmes within the financial sector.
Internationally, EIF hosted 21 specialists from Uzbekistan through the Financial Leadership Programme. This collaboration with the Government Knowledge Exchange Office underscores the UAE's dedication to sharing financial expertise globally and fostering partnerships.
Programme Achievements
The "Ethraa" programme has led to significant milestones such as employing over 1,700 UAE nationals through employment exhibitions. Additionally, a Talent Acquisition Centre was established to further enhance Emiratisation efforts within the financial sector.
Twenty students were recognised for achieving top global rankings in specialised training under "Ethraa." The programme also introduced a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science in partnership with CBUAE and the Scholarships Office at the Presidential Court.

Khaled Mohamed Balama expressed gratitude for His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's support in developing national talent for leadership roles in finance. He stated that "the remarkable achievements of 'Ethraa' reflect our commitment to investing in Emirati talent."
The event concluded with inspiring stories from graduates who have become exemplary figures within the country's financial sector. Their success highlights how effective training can lead to vital roles within this industry.
