Emirates Health Services Launches 'Our Mental Health, Our Responsibility' Campaign For Awareness

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has initiated a campaign named "Our Mental Health, Our Responsibility" to mark Mental Health Month. This initiative, part of the Mental Health Month 2024 activities by EHS, is scheduled from October 25 to 27 at Mirdif City Center. The campaign's goals include raising mental health awareness, reducing stigma around mental illnesses, and showcasing the mental health services offered by EHS to enhance individual and community well-being.

Dr. Noor Almheiri, who leads the Mental Health Department at EHS, highlighted that this campaign aligns with UAE leadership's directives. The aim is to increase public understanding of mental health's importance, challenge stereotypes about mental illness, and promote overall mental balance and well-being. Dr. Almheiri stated that prioritising mental health is crucial in EHS’s strategy for sustainable development and ensuring comprehensive healthcare access for everyone.

EHS Launches Mental Health Awareness Campaign

The "Our Mental Health, Our Responsibility" campaign features various activities designed to boost mental health awareness. Participants will receive detailed information about the mental health services available at EHS facilities. Additionally, educational booklets covering different aspects of mental health will be distributed to attendees. The campaign aims to empower individuals by providing them with the necessary support for their mental well-being.

This initiative seeks to create an environment where individuals feel encouraged to seek psychological support without hesitation. This approach aligns with the UAE’s National Policy for The Promotion of Mental Health. EHS considers mental health a vital source of personal happiness and a foundation for building a robust and prosperous community.

By focusing on these objectives, the campaign strives to reach as many people as possible. It aims to empower them with knowledge and resources needed for maintaining their mental well-being. Through these efforts, EHS hopes to foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages open discussions about mental health issues.

The overarching goal is to dispel myths surrounding mental illnesses while promoting a culture of acceptance and understanding. By doing so, EHS aims to contribute significantly towards achieving a balanced and healthy society where everyone can thrive.
