Emirates Expands A380 And Boeing 777 Services Footprint To Eight More Cities
Emirates is set to enhance its fleet with upgraded Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, expanding to eight additional cities soon. The airline will introduce refreshed A380s to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Nice, and Perth. Meanwhile, the upgraded Boeing 777s will serve Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Frankfurt. Additionally, a refitted Boeing 777 service will be launched to Dublin.
The airline's refurbishment programme is progressing swiftly. Emirates Engineering Centre teams work tirelessly to complete comprehensive makeovers of wide-body aircraft every three weeks. This ambitious initiative aims to elevate the onboard experience for passengers across their network.

Later this year, Emirates will receive its first long-range A350 aircraft. This new addition will debut in Australia with flights to Adelaide starting on 1st December. Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the significance of this development for the airline's network expansion.
Kazim stated: "Deploying our first long-range A350 to Adelaide is an exciting development and underscores the importance of Australia as a major eastbound anchor in our network. It also represents our commitment to delivering the best possible long-haul experience on our latest generation aircraft."
Emirates' refurbishment efforts are part of a broader strategy to strengthen its Premium Economy offering. By the end of this year, the airline aims to establish itself as a leader in Premium Economy seats. Over the next two years, Emirates plans to solidify its position further by expanding these offerings.
Kazim added: "The scaling up of our Premium Economy offering strengthens our competitive proposition to travellers and makes it our strategic differentiator by offering them more choice as they increasingly seek premium travel experiences."
Investment in Aircraft Refurbishment
The airline has committed an unprecedented US $5 billion towards retrofitting its fleet. This investment focuses on enhancing customer experiences onboard. The refurbishment programme began in November 2022 and has already upgraded 51 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft flying to 38 destinations.
Emirates plans comprehensive cabin refurbishments for 219 aircraft, including 110 Airbus A380s and 109 Boeing 777s. The meticulous process involves over 270 engineers and technicians working around the clock at Emirates Engineering Centre.
Future Fleet Plans
By the end of 2025, Emirates expects delivery of five A350 aircraft designed for long-haul missions. These planes will feature 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, along with Premium Economy and Economy Class seating options.
The retrofit process takes approximately 22 days for an A380 and 18 days for a Boeing 777. Each month sees two refurbished aircraft ready for deployment either on new routes or existing operations.
This extensive upgrade initiative underscores Emirates' dedication to providing exceptional travel experiences while maintaining its competitive edge in the aviation industry.
