This bond was further solidified with the establishment of the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi in 1980 and the UAE Embassy in Manila in 1989. These developments have paved the way for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.A major cultural event, "Emirates Loves the Philippines," is set to take place on June 1 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This celebration marks the 127th anniversary of Philippine independence. It aims to honour the deep friendship between the UAE and the Filipino community. The event is expected to attract over 30,000 attendees from across the UAE.The festival will transform the Dubai World Trade Centre into a vibrant hub of Filipino culture from 08:00 to 22:00. Visitors can enjoy traditional music, dance, food, and art, showcasing the rich heritage of Filipinos in the UAE. This celebration highlights their identity and deep roots within the country.Organised with Dubai Police's support, this event will feature cultural competitions, live performances, folk dancing, and handicraft exhibitions. Special entertainment areas for children will also be available. Food stalls will offer popular Filipino dishes and drinks for everyone to enjoy.The UAE's commitment to cultural diversity is evident through such events.
