Emirates And Bahamasair Forge Interline Partnership To Enhance Travel Connectivity To The Bahamas
Emirates has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahamasair to form an interline partnership. This collaboration will benefit travellers heading to The Bahamas by enabling Emirates to extend its services into the Caribbean. Customers can now use Bahamasair flights from Florida to reach three destinations in The Bahamas, enhancing travel options.
Under this agreement, passengers flying with Emirates to Miami or Orlando can connect seamlessly to Bahamasair flights bound for Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador. This arrangement allows customers to book their entire journey on a single ticket, simplifying the travel process. Additionally, Emirates passengers will benefit from a generous baggage allowance when flying with Bahamasair.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, expressed satisfaction with the new partnership. He stated, "We are pleased to establish an interline partnership with Bahamasair to expand our reach to new and exciting destinations and offer travel options for our customers planning journeys to the Caribbean nation." He highlighted the convenience of connecting in Florida for onward travel across The Bahamas while enjoying competitive fares and a generous baggage policy.
This collaboration also aligns with Emirates' agreement with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together, they aim to promote The Bahamas as a tourist destination across Emirates' extensive network. This initiative is part of broader efforts to boost tourism and trade in the Caribbean nation.
The MoU includes plans for both airlines to explore further cooperation opportunities. These include enhancing cargo interline operations and potential partnerships within their frequent flyer programmes. Such initiatives could lead to increased efficiency and customer benefits in the future.
Tracy Cooper, Managing Director of Bahamasair, remarked on the significance of this partnership. "This partnership significantly elevates Bahamasair’s global profile and opens access to invaluable expertise and new markets," he said. By partnering with a globally respected airline like Emirates, Bahamasair aims to strengthen its capabilities and lay foundations for sustained international growth.
Strategic Connections Through Florida
Emirates currently operates flights from 12 US destinations, including Miami and Orlando. Miami is served daily by Boeing 777 aircraft, while Orlando receives five weekly services. These connections link travellers across Emirates' vast network of over 140 destinations worldwide.
During the Arabian Travel Market event, Emirates signed another MoU with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This agreement focuses on jointly promoting tourism in The Bahamas as part of efforts to develop the country's tourism and trade sectors further.
This strategic partnership between Emirates and Bahamasair not only enhances connectivity but also supports broader economic goals by fostering tourism growth in The Bahamas through increased accessibility.
