Fifth Edition Of Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup To Kick Off In Denmark

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), and with the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHS, the 5th Show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) 2024 season will commence at the Danish National Equestrian Centre in Vilhelmsborg on Saturday, 15th June 2024.

The fifth show of the EAHGC, and the second one held in Europe, will coincide with the 2024 Vilhelmsborg International Horse Show. The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup was officially launched last September and includes 10 shows held across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, and South and North America. These events are coordinated with relevant authorities in each country, offering valuable cash prizes to the top five winners of each round.

Arabian Horse Cup Starts in Denmark

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan confirmed that the first edition of the EAHGC saw continuous success in multiple countries worldwide. This success is attributed to the support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also stated that reaching Denmark for its second European show aligns with plans to support owners and breeders of Arabian horses globally. The aim is to elevate the status of these animals.

"We expect the event in Denmark to be largely successful just like the previous shows were, especially with the large number of owners and breeders who are keen to compete over the titles," said Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan. He reiterated EAHS' significant role and efforts to ensure these events' success, which enhances UAE's position on a global level.

The National Equestrian Center in Vilhelmsborg dates back to the 17th century. It was renovated and opened as a national equestrian center in 1989 to host international events and competitions for various equestrian sports. Since then, it has become a major center for equestrianism and horse breeding in Denmark.

In August 2011, a large celebration marked the venue’s Silver Jubilee in the main exhibition square. The area features beautiful beech trees towards the river with stunning views and includes many footpaths and other recreational areas. This location is also home to many ancient buildings.

The first show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup for the 2024 season was held last February in Australia at Willinga Park in Bawley Point during the 2024 Australian International Arabian Championship. The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the second show in Manama from 14th to 16th March.

Scottsdale, Arizona hosted the third show in conjunction with the Arabian Breeders World Cup last March. The fourth show took place on 1st June at the Equestrian Arena Le Grand Parquet in Fontainebleau, France.
