Saudi Arabia: Emerson Unveils New Manufacturing Hub In King Salman Energy Park

Emerson, a leader in industrial technology and automation, recently unveiled its advanced manufacturing and innovation center at the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), highlighting its ongoing expansion in Saudi Arabia.

This new hub, spanning 140,000 square feet, consolidates Emerson's vast automation technology offerings, including various critical control, safety systems, and industrial lighting assemblies. This development is a significant step in Emerson's efforts to bolster its presence in the Kingdom and contribute to its industrial growth.

Emphasizing sustainability, the SPARK facility incorporates energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources, including solar power, to support Emerson's commitment to achieving net zero emissions. The incorporation of rooftop solar panels, optimized lighting, and compressed air systems exemplifies the company's dedication to environmental stewardship while advancing industrial capabilities.

"This new facility reinforces Emerson's position as a key player in the industrial sector in the Kingdom and contributes to Saudi Arabia's long-term Vision 2030 of strengthening local talent, boosting supply chain localization and advancing sustainable growth," Mathias Schinzel, president of Emerson Middle East and Africa, highlighted the strategic importance of this venture. It aligns with the country's Vision 2030 goals by enhancing local expertise, promoting sustainable development, and localizing the supply chain.

"We are proud to collaborate with Emerson to support their new cutting-edge manufacturing hub at SPARK," said Mishal I. AlZughaibi, SPARK President and CEO. His statement reflects the mutual benefits of this partnership, underscoring SPARK's and Emerson's shared objectives in enhancing Saudi Arabia's industrial sector and local manufacturing capabilities.

Since opening its first local manufacturing facility in Jubail in 2011, Emerson has steadily expanded its manufacturing footprint in Saudi Arabia, adding facilities in Dammam and establishing its Saudi headquarters in Dhahran Techno Valley in 2018. The inauguration of the SPARK hub, attended by Emerson’s top executives, SPARK's leadership, and prominent stakeholders from the Saudi Ministry of Energy, Investment, SABIC, SWCC, and Ma'aden, marks a continuation of Emerson's commitment to the Kingdom's industrial development.

"As part of Emerson's contribution to the 'Made in KSA' initiative, Emerson's facility will serve domestic and regional markets with advanced technologies designed to meet the evolving needs of various industries, further solidifying Saudi Arabia's position as a leader in localized manufacturing and innovation," said Hussein Zein, vice president of Emerson in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. This initiative not only supports Saudi Arabia’s industrial prowess but also emphasizes the importance of innovation and local production in meeting the demands of the regional market.

By partnering with local suppliers, Emerson aims to minimize reliance on imported goods, thereby enhancing the Kingdom’s industrial self-sufficiency and strengthening critical manufacturing value chains. This strategy is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on developing robust, self-sufficient industries to support the nation's economic growth.
