UAE: Emerge Collaborates With Tawazun Industrial Park To Install 13.25MWp Solar PV Plant
Emerge, a collaboration between Masdar and the EDF Group, has entered into an agreement to set up a 13.25MWp solar photovoltaic plant at Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP). The deal was formalised during IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, with key figures like Aurelien Delahaye from EDF and Ali Alshimmari from Masdar present.
The project includes an 11.5MWp ground-mounted solar PV plant and a 1.75MWp carport. This initiative is expected to cut down CO₂ emissions by 14,064 tonnes each year. This reduction is comparable to eliminating emissions from over a quarter of TIP's current residents. Construction is slated to commence in late 2025.

Faiz Al Nahdi, CEO of Tawazun Industrial Park, highlighted the importance of this collaboration with Emerge in integrating clean energy solutions within TIP. He stated, "Our collaboration with Emerge marks a significant step in integrating clean energy solutions into Tawazun Industrial Park. This project underscores our responsibility to minimise environmental impact while fostering a modern, forward-thinking industrial hub."
He further emphasised that incorporating renewable energy will provide TIP and its resident companies with sustainable resources for growth. This aligns with national goals like the UAE’s 'Net Zero by 2050 Strategy’, reinforcing their commitment to innovation and sustainable development in strategic sectors.
Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge, expressed pride in welcoming TIP as a client, stating, "We are extremely proud to welcome TIP as a client and to demonstrate the value we add as an energy services company. Our turnkey solutions offer businesses like TIP the opportunity to decarbonise and the ability to transition towards a sustainable future without upfront costs."
Emerge will manage the entire project lifecycle under a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) agreement. This encompasses financing, design, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of the solar facility for 25 years.
This partnership not only supports TIP's sustainability goals but also showcases Emerge's capability in providing comprehensive energy solutions that facilitate decarbonisation efforts without initial financial burdens.
