Eid Al Etihad Celebrates Values Of Pride And Belonging In The United Arab Emirates

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, highlighted the significance of Eid Al Etihad on 2nd December. This day marks a celebration of national pride and unity. He recalled the vision realised by the Founding Fathers in 1971, when their shared aspirations led to the formation of a modern state.

His Highness emphasised that this union was built on values like unity, cooperation, and compassion. These principles are crucial for shaping the nation's future through its citizens' efforts, empowered by knowledge and education.

In his statement for the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, His Highness expressed pride in remembering those who pursued integrated unity with determination. He noted their resolve in overcoming challenges to build a unified state and ensure a decent life for all citizens.

Their commitment to uniting and leading the nation towards development has uplifted society and its people. This dedication laid the groundwork for planning a prosperous future.

Since that pivotal era, the country has witnessed significant advancements across various sectors. Driven by science, knowledge, and societal cohesion, these developments have enhanced education, health, family welfare, and the economy.

This progress has enabled citizens to enjoy a quality life that serves as a foundation for further growth. The unity and visionary thinking of past leaders have propelled the nation to new heights.

"It is founded on the values of unity, cooperation, solidarity, compassion, pride in its identity and principles, and the commitment to building its future through the efforts of its citizens, empowered by science and knowledge," His Highness added.

"On this day each year, as we celebrate this most cherished national anniversary, we proudly remember those who were resolute in their determination to pursue the path of integrated unity," he stated.

"And how steadfast was their determination as they faced the most difficult challenges—building the state, unifying society, and ensuring a decent life. They achieved their goals after pledging to unite and lead our nation on the path of development, uplifting society and its people, and planning for the future," His Highness said.

"Since that era, our country has experienced a significant civilisational renaissance across all aspects of life, driven by science, knowledge, the determination of loyal individuals, and the cohesion of society. As a result, our beloved homeland has advanced in education, health, family welfare, and the economy," he continued.

"This allowed the sons and daughters of the homeland to enjoy a decent life which became the foundation for the country's progress and development—a life that guarantees everything they need and serves as the fruit of unity and visionary thinking that led our country to new heights," he concluded.
