EHS And MBRCGI Unveil AI-Driven Synthetic Memories Project To Enhance Alzheimer’s Care At Arab Health 2025

Emirates Health Services (EHS) and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) have joined forces to introduce the 'Synthetic Memories' project. This AI-driven initiative aims to enhance life quality for Alzheimer's and memory-impaired patients. Unveiled at Arab Health 2025, it underscores the UAE's commitment to ethical, human-centric AI innovation in addressing global healthcare issues.

The 'Synthetic Memories' project uses advanced generative AI to recreate fragmented memories through realistic visual and auditory experiences. By merging AI with neuropsychological research, this technology aims to slow cognitive decline and improve emotional well-being. It also helps patients reconnect with significant past moments, enhancing their overall quality of life.

AI-Driven Synthetic Memories Project for Alzheimer’s Care

Clinical trials will be conducted in collaboration with Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital researchers. These trials will assess the technology's effectiveness within the UAE's diverse cultural setting. A strong emphasis is placed on patient safety, data privacy, and ethical AI practices throughout the process.

Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of EHS, highlighted the project's potential to transform elderly care through human-centred technological solutions. He noted that this initiative goes beyond traditional healthcare advancements by focusing on restoring emotional and psychological well-being for those with memory impairments.

Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, stressed the UAE leadership's dedication to responsibly deploying AI in sectors vital to societal well-being. She pointed out that initiatives like 'Synthetic Memories' align with the nation's long-term strategy of integrating AI innovations across healthcare, education, and economic development.

As Arab Health 2025's exclusive healthcare partner, EHS is showcasing 19 innovative projects, with 'Synthetic Memories' as a flagship initiative. This partnership reflects EHS and MBRCGI's shared vision of driving scalable, future-ready healthcare solutions by bridging government innovation with medical expertise.

Future-Ready Healthcare Solutions

The collaboration between EHS and MBRCGI positions the UAE as a global leader in applying AI to tackle challenges such as neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. Through collaborative partnerships, MBRCGI plays a crucial role in positioning the UAE at the forefront of using AI to address these significant challenges.

This initiative demonstrates how cutting-edge innovation can be combined with compassionate care to significantly enhance daily life quality for memory-impaired individuals. By enabling them to interactively reconnect with lost memories, this technology offers a unique blend of technological advancement and patient-focused care.

The UAE continues its leadership in sustainable development and AI-driven public health strategies through such initiatives. The focus remains on creating scalable solutions that are ready for future challenges while maintaining ethical standards and prioritising patient welfare.
