The award was accepted on behalf of His Highness by Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture Department, at the festival's opening ceremony in Cairo, Egypt. The event saw attendance from notable figures including Dr. Ibrahim Saber Khalil, Cairo Governor; Dr. Ashraf Zaki, festival president and head of the Actors' Syndicate; Counsellor Saleh Al Saadi from the UAE Embassy in Egypt; Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Honourary President of the Festival and former Egyptian Minister of Culture; Mohamed Riad, President of the National Theatre Festival; along with many Egyptian and Arab artists and cultural personalities.

Honouring Sharjah Ruler at Theatre Festival

Dr. Ashraf Zaki highlighted His Highness's influence on Arab theatre, stating, "His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah has played a pivotal role in the revival of Arab theatre through continuous cultural initiatives, both materially and morally. In addition to this support, His Highness has made significant contributions to playwriting, which holds great importance for Arab intellectuals." Zaki further noted that His Highness's support extends across various cultural sectors.

Abdullah Al Owais expressed his joy at participating in the festival. He remarked, "We are delighted to be with you at this joyful event on the occasion of the Egyptian Theatre Actors' Festival, where the theatre once again comes together through artistic and theatrical activities in Egypt's vibrant cultural scene." Al Owais also conveyed greetings from His Highness and expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him.

The Egyptian Theatre Actors' Festival aims to support young talents in acting and theatre. Initiated in 2016 under actor Ashraf Zaki's supervision, it showcases new theatrical works by emerging artists. The festival provides a platform for young talents alongside different generations of syndicate members to demonstrate their artistic skills.

In addition to honouring Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the festival recognised other artists such as renowned actor Yehia El-Fakharany and Director Samir Al-Asfoury. The late actor Ahmed Rateb was also honoured posthumously for his contributions to theatre.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's efforts have significantly impacted Arab theatre. His initiatives include establishing a home for elderly artists in Egypt, which is highly valued by artists across Egypt and the Arab world.
