Egypt's Minister Of Youth Emphasises Collaboration And Training For Youth Empowerment

The TRENDS Youth Council recently organised a discussion with Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, during the Cairo International Book Fair 2025. The session highlighted the importance of leadership training and scientific research programmes. Participants stressed the need for better communication between young professionals in both public and private sectors to foster innovation.

Dr. Sobhy acknowledged TRENDS Research & Advisory's significant role in research and its global influence among think tanks. He praised TRENDS' efforts in empowering young researchers and expressed the Ministry's willingness to collaborate on youth empowerment and training initiatives. He also mentioned ongoing training at youth centres aimed at combating extremist ideologies.

Youth Empowerment Discussed by Egypt's Minister

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasised strategic planning for youth empowerment. He advocated for specialised training and workshops to enhance young people's skills, providing them with practical knowledge. Al-Ali also highlighted the role of digital technology in promoting sustainable learning and effective communication.

Participants included Dr. Abdullah Al-Batish, Assistant Minister for Youth Centres Affairs, Dr. Manal Gamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry, and members of the TRENDS Youth Council. They discussed collaboration between institutions to create an environment that encourages innovation and initiative among youth.

Dr. Sobhy pointed out that both parties are keen to work together in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity fields. These technologies can support youth development and community progress. He also stressed sharing expertise to counter extremist ideologies and address societal changes affecting young people.

The TRENDS Youth Council members appreciated the opportunities provided by TRENDS for active participation in scientific activities and international events. They noted these experiences enhance their skills, equip them with innovation tools, and enable them to contribute to societal progress on various levels.

The session underscored the importance of collaboration between relevant institutions to foster an environment that encourages innovation and initiative among youth. This approach aims to prepare a new generation of future leaders equipped with necessary skills for societal advancement.
