Egypt's Ai Everything MEA 2026 Aims To Position Nation As A Leader In Artificial Intelligence
In a significant move to position itself as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) in Africa and the wider world, Egypt is leveraging a comprehensive national strategy aimed at integrating AI technologies across essential industries.
With a clear vision outlined in its National Artificial Intelligence Strategy for the years 2025 to 2030, Egypt is making a statement on the global stage by ranking in the top 10 nations for AI and Machine Learning prowess. It stands out as the only African country to achieve this distinction, as noted in the 2024 GBS World Competitiveness Index.

Scheduled from 10 to 12 February 2026, Cairo will become a focal point for the global AI community with the inauguration of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa. This event, orchestrated by GITEX GLOBAL—the largest tech, AI, and startup event network globally—aims to be the premier AI tech week for the Middle East and Africa.
By bringing together a powerful mix of AI enterprises, startups, thought leaders, and decision-makers from over 60 countries, the event underscores Egypt's ambition to become a regional hub for AI innovation and collaboration.
Egypt's Strategic AI Initiatives and Global Partnerships
The Ai Everything MEA, hosted under the auspices of Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and in strategic collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), is more than an event. It is a testament to Egypt's commitment to harnessing AI for the public good.
Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized this commitment, stating, "Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the architecture of global competitiveness, and Egypt is determined to not only adapt to this shift - but to shape it."
This forum will showcase AI applications and cutting-edge technologies across sectors that are critical to Egypt's AI strategy and areas where the country leads, including digital health and cybersecurity.
By hosting Ai Everything MEA, Egypt is not just showcasing its advancements in AI. It is creating a bridge that connects global expertise with its strategic priorities, thereby accelerating the implementation of AI solutions.
This initiative is backed by significant investments in digital infrastructure, aiming to propel the digital economy forward and attract international deep-tech investments.
Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, shared his perspective on the importance of this initiative: "The launch of Ai Everything MEA marks a strategic milestone in our journey to position Egypt as a regional AI leader and a hub for innovation and co-creation."
Impact on Egypt's Digital and Economic Landscape
Egypt's approach to AI is comprehensive, extending beyond government initiatives to include the development of a vibrant ecosystem for startups and deep-tech companies. Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, highlighted the potential of AI to transform societies and economies, expressing confidence in Ai Everything MEA's role in amplifying Egypt's strategic AI missions.
The summit is set to catalyse AI research, industry applications, and startup growth, with participation from major tech firms like Atos and IBM, showcasing Egypt's readiness to play a central role in the AI revolution.
Moreover, the event is expected to draw over 200 venture capitalists from the GITEX network, managing assets totaling more than US$1 trillion, looking for investment opportunities in the region. This influx of interest and capital signifies confidence in Egypt's potential as an AI innovation hub.
Additionally, the launch of one of the region's largest youth-tech academies at the event will fuel the talent pipeline, ensuring that Egypt's substantial pool of university graduates is equipped to contribute to and benefit from the AI-led transformation.
