EDGE Signs Letter Of Intent With Lockheed Martin To Enhance Aerospace And Defence Collaboration
EPI, a key player in the UAE's precision engineering sector, has entered into a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Lockheed Martin. This collaboration aims to explore new opportunities to bolster the UAE’s industrial growth and enhance its national defence capabilities. The agreement was formalised during the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The LoI was signed by Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, and John S. Clark, Vice President of Business Development at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control division. Khaled Al Zaabi, President of Platforms and Systems cluster at EDGE, witnessed the signing. The event took place from 17th to 21st February.

This partnership will focus on identifying areas where EPI can support the UAE’s industrial expansion and self-sufficiency in defence sectors. Michael Deshaies highlighted that forming partnerships is central to EPI's strategy for diversifying operations and collaborating with major aerospace and defence players.
Deshaies stated, "Part of our core strategy at EPI is to explore mutually beneficial partnerships to drive the diversification of our operations and join forces with key players in aerospace and defence, in line with our commitment to excellence and innovation." He emphasised their alignment with EDGE’s mission to localise advanced technologies.
John Clark from Lockheed Martin expressed pride in working with EPI. He noted that this collaboration reflects a shared dedication to fostering innovation and strengthening local industries. Clark said, "Lockheed Martin is proud to work alongside EPI to foster innovation, strengthen local industry, and advance the UAE’s long-term defence capabilities."
