EDGE Group And SIATT Partner With Brazilian Navy For Advanced MANSUP Anti-Ship Missiles
EDGE, a prominent technology and defence group, has announced that SIATT will supply advanced MANSUP anti-ship missiles to the Brazilian Navy. These missiles will be integrated into the new Tamandaré class stealth frigates. The agreement was formalised at the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, with key figures such as Hamad Al Marar from EDGE and Brazilian Navy Vice-Admiral Carlos Henrique de Lima Zampieri present.
The MANSUP programme is a collaborative effort between the Brazilian Navy and SIATT, a specialist in smart weapons and high-tech systems. EDGE holds a 50% stake in SIATT. This missile system is designed to meet the defence needs of both the UAE Navy and Brazil's frigate programme, with potential for international export. The partnership aims to develop world-class national capabilities through locally-developed solutions.

Vice-Admiral Carlos Henrique de Lima Zampieri highlighted the strategic significance of the MANSUP programme for Brazil. He stated, "The MANSUP programme is widely recognised as strategically important to Brazil, enabling it to create a sustainable and effective maritime legacy." This initiative underscores Brazil's commitment to enhancing its maritime capabilities.
Hamad Al Marar from EDGE emphasised the importance of international collaboration in developing the MANSUP programme. He noted that this partnership is built on trust and expertise sharing in a specialised field. The programme not only advances technology but also stimulates economic growth by creating jobs and impacting the manufacturing ecosystem positively.
The MANSUP solution features inertial guidance and active radar homing technology. It has undergone rigorous testing within Brazil's naval fleet and may be adapted for air and land systems in the future. SIATT plays a crucial role by developing various components like guidance systems, propulsion, and warheads while ensuring integration onto ships and ground platforms.
Rogerio Salvador, CEO of SIATT, expressed enthusiasm about this milestone in UAE-Brazil relations. He remarked on leveraging EDGE Group’s market position to expand internationally: "This event shows the strength of the relationship between UAE and Brazil and represents a key milestone on SIATT’s strategy of international expansion."
Future Developments
EDGE, SIATT, and the Brazilian Navy are committed to finalising an extended range variant of MANSUP known as MANSUP-ER. This development aims to enhance operational capabilities further. The collaboration reflects ongoing efforts to innovate within defence sectors while fostering international partnerships.
This agreement exemplifies how strategic alliances can drive technological advancements while supporting economic growth through job creation within related industries.
