EDGE And Du Collaborate To Secure UAE Financial Networks With KATIM Encryption Technology
EDGE has partnered with du to integrate KATIM Gateway network encryptors into the UAE's telecom infrastructure. This move aims to secure data for financial institutions and align with the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). KATIM, EDGE's secure communications arm, becomes the exclusive provider of these encryptors, enhancing the UAE's cybersecurity and digital resilience. The agreement was signed by Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE, and Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du.
KATIM Gateway encryptors will be deployed across crucial financial data routes on du’s network. This deployment ensures end-to-end protection for data in motion, bolstering inter-bank communication integrity. It also enhances national resilience against sophisticated cyber threats and emerging quantum-era risks. The integration supports the UAE Vision by securing locally-hosted infrastructure that addresses government concerns about data sovereignty.

Fahad Al Hassawi stated, "du is committed to delivering secure and resilient digital infrastructure that enables key sectors across the UAE to operate with confidence. By integrating KATIM’s sovereign encryption technology into our core network, we strengthen the security posture of our infrastructure and enhance the protection of sensitive data flows." This partnership ensures that the UAE's data-driven economy operates securely.
The KATIM Gateway is a post-quantum resistant network encryptor developed in the UAE. It secures high-bandwidth data flows between core networks, data centres, and critical operations. Its integration within du’s infrastructure allows scalable encryption services for financial entities under CBUAE oversight. This collaboration highlights technological independence and resilience in a complex cyber landscape.
Hamad Al Marar commented on this collaboration: "This partnership represents a defining step in securing the UAE’s financial sector with sovereign encryption technology built and managed entirely within our borders. By working alongside du, we are establishing a trusted, unified encryption backbone that safeguards national data flows and strengthens confidence in our digital economy."
The strategic alliance positions KATIM as a leader in providing network encryptors for this nationwide initiative. It reinforces the UAE’s leadership in cybersecurity by ensuring that critical financial data remains protected from potential threats. The collaboration supports future alignment with CBUAE regulations while enhancing digital resilience across the nation.
This partnership between EDGE and du marks significant progress in securing vital sectors within the UAE through advanced encryption technologies. By embedding KATIM Gateway encryptors into telecom infrastructure, both companies contribute to a more secure digital environment for financial institutions operating under CBUAE guidelines.
