Edge Defence: UAE's EDGE Expands Unmanned Systems Reach To 100 Countries

EDGE is expanding its global reach, with defence products and solutions now supplied to more than 100 countries, according to Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar. Al Marar said this growth highlights rising trust in the UAE’s defence industries, supported by artificial intelligence and unmanned systems that are designed and manufactured in the country.

Al Marar told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that EDGE entered 2026 with more than 180 technological solutions ready for deployment. Around 40 additional solutions are under development for completion within the next two years. Every system, Al Marar noted, is built around artificial intelligence technologies to support defence and security capabilities made in the UAE.

Edge Defence Expands Unmanned Reach

Al Marar stated that more than 70 percent of EDGE’s sales during the past year went to export markets. These exports covered unmanned systems, weapons and security solutions. The sales mix, Al Marar said, shows that Emirati products can compete globally and that the UAE is consolidating its status as a provider of advanced defence technologies.

EDGE employs more than 18,000 staff representing 90 nationalities, creating a broad base of skills and experience. Al Marar said this diversity supports innovation and long-term development across the group. Al Marar also stressed that the UAE has consistently been bold in adopting smart solutions and is among the first to test and apply new technologies.

Discussing EDGE’s presence at UMEX and SimTEX 2026, Al Marar said the group is presenting a full range of unmanned land, maritime and aerial systems. He explained that this participation reflects the UAE’s position in advanced technologies. Al Marar added, "In the UAE, we take pride in our armed forces and security and police forces, and we strive to provide defence and security products that enable them to perform their daily duties with high efficiency, ensuring that the UAE remains safe for its people and continues to strengthen its position as one of the safest countries in the world."
