EDGE's BEACON RED To Deliver Comprehensive Border Security Programme For Angola’s Ministry Of Interior

EDGE Group is nearing the completion of a deal with Angola's Ministry of Interior to implement an extensive border security programme. This initiative will be executed by BEACON RED, a subsidiary of EDGE. Omar Al Zaabi, President of EDGE Commercial, signed the Letter of Intent (LOI) for this collaboration.

Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, stated, "This important programme underscores EDGE’s core strategy of delivering advanced, UAE-developed defence and security solutions to international partners. Angola stands out as a forward-thinking nation with a clear vision for modernising its national security architecture, which makes it an ideal partner in shaping the future of border control. As one of the most significant UAE-led initiatives of its kind, it highlights the strength of our defence industrial base and our role in supporting governments in building long-term, future-ready national security capabilities."

EDGE Enhances Angola's Border Security Solutions

The programme aims to enhance Angola's border security through cutting-edge command and control systems and mission-specific training. These efforts are designed to improve situational awareness and operational readiness at key border locations. This project is among the largest UAE-led international security programmes, showcasing EDGE's capability in addressing complex national security needs.

EDGE’s border security framework combines AI-powered analytics, surveillance UAVs, secure communications, and big data management with traditional defence systems. The solutions are customised to meet specific operational requirements, terrain challenges, and threat environments. This approach ensures modular and interoperable systems that boost situational awareness and quick response across various regions.

This agreement follows a significant EUR 1 billion contract where Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), part of EDGE Group, is tasked with constructing BR71 MKII corvettes for Angola's Navy. This deal further strengthens the partnership between the UAE and Angola in enhancing national security capabilities.

The collaboration between EDGE Group and Angola represents a strategic move towards modernising national security infrastructure. By integrating advanced technology with traditional systems, this initiative aims to provide comprehensive solutions tailored to Angola's unique needs.
