DXB Airport Hosts Over 1,500 Young Athletes For Asian Youth Para Games 2025

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is hosting over 1,500 young athletes from 35 nations for the Asian Youth Para Games 2025. This event highlights DXB's commitment to accessibility and inclusive services. The airport has ensured full operational readiness across its three terminals, deploying specialised People of Determination (PoD) teams to provide a seamless arrival experience for all delegations.

Preparations for the Games included training sessions for frontline staff on best practices for interacting with PoD individuals. A joint task force was activated to manage delegation arrivals efficiently. Additionally, welcome points and reception desks were set up to assist athletes upon their arrival at the airport.

Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, emphasised the importance of accessibility in airport operations. He stated, "Accessibility shapes how we design and deliver every part of the airport journey. From trained teams and hearing loops to dedicated assistance counters and quiet spaces, DXB ensures that every guest, regardless of their needs, can move through the airport with comfort and confidence."

The event marks the largest participation in the Games' history, with 11 sports being hosted across eight venues from 10 – 13 December. This further establishes Dubai as a leading global hub for Para sport excellence. It is also the second time Dubai hosts these Games, following a successful edition in 2017.

A group of employees from Dubai Airports is volunteering at the Games to support athletes. This initiative reflects the organisation’s dedication to promoting inclusion for People of Determination throughout the UAE. Their involvement underscores a broader commitment to fostering an inclusive environment within the community.

Logistical arrangements have been made for official transport during the athletes' arrival period. These efforts ensure that participants can travel smoothly between venues and accommodations, enhancing their overall experience in Dubai.
