DXB Achieves Record 70.1 Million Passengers In First Nine Months Of 2025

Dubai International Airport (DXB) experienced its busiest quarter ever in Q3 2025, accommodating 24.2 million visitors from July to September. This marks a 1.9% rise compared to the previous year. The strong performance in this quarter boosted the total number of visitors for the first nine months of the year to 70.1 million, reflecting a 2.1% increase over the same timeframe last year.

Aircraft operations at DXB remained robust, with 115,000 flights recorded in the third quarter alone. From January to September, the airport managed 336,000 flights across various categories, marking a 2.7% increase year-on-year. By the end of September, each aircraft carried an average of 213 passengers.

DXB Welcomes 70.1 Million Passengers in 2025

Dubai Airports is committed to maintaining its high operational standards while preparing for future advancements. Projects are underway to enhance all terminals, including CB Central in Terminal 3, which will feature Dubai's top brands and experiences. CB East will offer family-friendly spaces with dining and entertainment options for all ages.

CB West is set to become DXB's new hub for premium shopping and casual dining experiences. In Terminal 1, CD Central will provide panoramic airfield views, refreshed seating areas, innovative passenger information systems, and easy access to major retail outlets.

As DXB continues its growth trajectory, Dubai Airports is also focusing on Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC). This future-ready aviation hub is expected to become Dubai's main international gateway by the early 2030s. DWC aims to elevate efficiency, connectivity, and sustainability in global aviation standards.

Key Markets and Destinations

India remained DXB's largest country market during the first nine months of this year with 8.8 million visitors. Following India were Saudi Arabia with 5.5 million guests and the United Kingdom with 4.6 million guests. Pakistan saw 3.2 million visitors while the United States had 2.4 million guests.

Among city destinations, London topped the list with 2.8 million visitors followed by Riyadh at 2.3 million guests and Mumbai at 1.8 million guests.

Baggage Handling Efficiency

The airport handled an impressive number of bags during this period—63.8 million—showing a rise of 6.2% from last year’s figures for this period alone; this sets a new record high for baggage handling efficiency within such timeframes too! Ninety percent reached their owners within just forty-five minutes after landing!

Smooth Passenger Experience

During Q3 alone: passport control times were under ten minutes for departing passengers (99%) while arriving ones waited less than fifteen minutes (99%). Security checks took less than five minutes (99%) even amidst peak volumes!
