Ducab Group Collaborates With Schneider Electric To Enhance ESG And Decarbonisation Efforts
Ducab Group, a major manufacturing firm in the UAE, is enhancing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and decarbonisation efforts. This follows the appointment of Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business as a strategic advisor. The collaboration aligns with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050, aiming to set new standards in sustainable industrial practices.
Schneider Electric will assist Ducab Group in crafting a detailed ESG and Climate Strategy. This strategy targets significant reductions in carbon emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, adhering to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These initiatives will build on Ducab's current sustainability measures, including two solar PV plants powering half of its Jebel Ali factory and the Blade Smart Factory Project.

Charles-Edouard Mellagui, CEO of Ducab Cables Business, stated that while their business thrives, addressing global sustainability demands remains challenging. He said, "Our collaboration with Schneider Electric provides a powerful solution... We remain determined to support the global energy transition by deploying all our innovative products and solutions across all sectors."
Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries at Schneider Electric, highlighted their commitment to empowering companies for a cleaner future. Chadli remarked that this partnership is crucial for implementing sustainable practices within Ducab’s operations. "Together," Chadli noted, "we are laying the groundwork for a comprehensive ESG strategy that will not only reduce carbon footprints but also set a new standard for industrial decarbonisation."
As part of this partnership, Schneider Electric will perform an ESG Double Materiality Assessment for Ducab. They will also facilitate ESG reporting according to global frameworks and GRI standards. Additionally, Ducab will utilise Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Resource Advisor—a cloud-based tool designed to track sustainability progress using AI-driven data.
Ducab is making notable strides in reducing carbon emissions and optimising resource use. These efforts enhance its position as a leader in sustainability within the energy sector. The collaboration with Schneider Electric aims to further strengthen these objectives by leveraging expertise in energy management and decarbonisation.
This partnership underscores both companies' dedication to sustainable development and environmental responsibility. By integrating advanced technologies and strategies, they aim to contribute significantly to regional clean energy goals while setting benchmarks for industrial decarbonisation.
