Dubai Unveils Updated OOH Advertising Manual To Attract More Investment

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an updated version of the Dubai Out-Of-Home (OOH) Advertising Manual. This update, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, aims to streamline government procedures. The initiative aligns with the leadership's vision and the goals of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.

The RTA emphasised the strong foundation of Dubai's OOH advertising sector. This sector encourages companies and investors to increase their advertising spending. It also promotes competition in brand showcasing, reinforcing Dubai’s global status. The modern infrastructure and advertiser confidence in ROI from OOH advertising reflect this robust environment.

Dubai Updates OOH Ad Manual

The revised Manual is a product of joint efforts by RTA, Dubai Municipality, and the Department of Economy and Tourism. A global consulting firm specialising in OOH advertising and traffic safety supported these efforts. Enhancements include better site planning, improved traffic safety standards, revised spacing criteria, standardized design elements, pilot areas, and new billboard construction procedures.

The Manual introduces innovative features not seen in other major global cities. These focus on design standardisation and regional landscaping that highlights Dubai’s identity. It aids advertisers with creative form options while assisting inspectors in enforcing advertising regulations.

New OOH advertising zones have been added, expanding digital advertising to align with Dubai’s growth goals. The updates emphasise asset blending and diverse billboard types for maximum investment returns.

Creative Potential with Safety Prioritised

The updated Manual offers enhanced guidelines for advertisers to explore their creative potential using new media such as 3D ads, drones, modern lighting, and laser technology. It prioritises the safety and security of pedestrians and road users.

All types of OOH advertisements are classified according to ad type, location, and information delivery format. This classification helps advertisers navigate the new guidelines effectively.

The collaborative efforts between RTA and its partners aim to cement Dubai’s position as a global hub for business and finance. They also provide an ideal platform for investment in OOH advertising.

The updates also add new OOH advertising zones and expand digital advertising. This aligns with Dubai’s growth goals while emphasising asset blending and diverse billboard types for maximum investment returns.

This environment reinforces Dubai’s global standing and reflects its modern infrastructure as well as the confidence advertisers have in the return on investment (ROI) from OOH advertising.

The Manual fosters an environment that encourages companies and investors to increase their advertising expenditure. It also promotes competition in promoting their products and showcasing their brands.
