Dubai Studio City has made a significant stride in boosting localized content production within the region by recording 358,000 minutes of original content throughout its interconnected ecosystem in 2023. This announcement was made during CABSAT 2024, which took place in Dubai from 21-23 May, where Dubai Studio City shone as a vibrant media, entertainment, and broadcasting hub. As part of TECOM Group PJSC and a Strategic Partner of the 30th edition of CABSAT this year, it hosted 198 days of shoots and recording sessions, underscoring its position as a leading destination for content creation in the region.
Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, and Dubai Production City at TECOM Group PJSC, emphasized the importance of supporting local content creators. He highlighted the Middle East's rich cultural heritage and the need to invest in local talent and stories to create a sustainable ecosystem that reflects the region's unique identity globally. Dubai Studio City, he noted, is committed to uniting the world's leading content producers to support the Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33’ and Dubai Media's vision to strengthen the local content creation economy.

Dubai Studio City is not just a hub for film, TV, and radio production companies such as Highend Films, Epic Films, and Big Kahuna but also hosts digital broadcasters like Playco Entertainment and Bytedance (TikTok), and satellite TV broadcasting companies MBC and Al Dafra. In January 2023, it welcomed Al Mashhad TV and saw the expansion of MAP-Media Arts Production, enhancing its production capacity and contributing to projects like the X-Factor TV series.
The destination provides a unique community experience with infrastructure tailored to the entertainment industry's needs, including backlots, sets, water tanks, production offices, and recording studios. Renowned Hollywood projects like 'Vanguard' and 'Star Trek Beyond' have been developed here. As part of TECOM Group's Media Cluster, Dubai Studio City also fosters a conducive environment for creative innovators worldwide through in5 Media, a start-up and entrepreneurship incubator dedicated to the media industry.
With over 3,500 local, regional, and international customers and more than 38,000 creative professionals, TECOM Group's Media Cluster is a hub of excellence for media innovators. It co-locates talents from various media and creative fields, emphasizing the goal of elevating the regional media value chain and catalyzing the local content production industry.
As the Strategic Partner of CABSAT 2024, Dubai Studio City offers a plethora of networking and educational opportunities at stand AR-H40 of Sheikh Saeed Hall 1. The event will include discussions on the region's emergence as a global film production hub and the future of content production, featuring speakers from leading media and technology companies. Furthermore, Podeo, the region's leading podcasting platform, will host LIVE shows throughout the event, providing insights into the evolving landscape of content production.
TECOM Group's portfolio, encompassing Dubai Studio City among other business districts, plays a crucial role in enriching Dubai's position as a global hub for media, entertainment, and technology. This commitment to fostering a vibrant media ecosystem aligns with the broader objectives of enhancing the local content creation economy and showcasing the region's cultural heritage on the global stage.
