Dubai Stand Up Paddle 2024 Achieves Record Participation At Scenic Hatta Dam
The Dubai Stand Up Paddle event, hosted by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), returned to Hatta Dam with a record turnout. The event drew 2,330 participants, surpassing last year's 1,000 attendees. This gathering has quickly become a significant part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC). Attendees enjoyed paddleboarding amidst stunning mountain views, welcoming both seasoned paddlers and newcomers.
Activities catered to all skill levels, featuring adult and family SUP training sessions led by certified coaches. The event also introduced free kayaking sessions, adding excitement to the day. As the sun set, participants relaxed with a yoga session on the water, embracing Hatta's natural beauty.

This year's event featured new attractions like free Hatta Kayak sessions. These additions allowed attendees to explore various water sports throughout the day. The SUP challenge sessions were another highlight, bringing together paddlers eager to showcase their skills while building camaraderie.
Participants honed their paddleboarding techniques under expert guidance during SUP training sessions. They enjoyed Hatta's cooler climate and calm waters. As activities concluded, sunset yoga offered a peaceful end against the backdrop of Hatta's dramatic mountains.
Extended Activities for Visitors
Visitors were encouraged to explore other outdoor activities such as spear throwing and air rifle shooting. Extended hours for archery and wall climbing were available at Hatta Aerial Adventure Park. Twin Zipline and Drop-In activities wrapped up at sunset.
Food trucks provided diverse culinary options from local favourites to international dishes, keeping everyone energised throughout the day. For those seeking an extended stay, camping zones, hotels, Airbnbs, and BBQ rentals were available.
Organisers and Partners
The event was organised by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) alongside Dubai Sports Council. RTA presented it with partners including Hatta Kayak and Mai Dubai as well as government entities like Dubai Police and Ministry of Education.
The event highlighted Dubai's commitment to promoting fitness through engaging activities that encourage both locals and visitors alike to embrace active lifestyles year-round.
