The awards ceremony attracted senior figures from several government entities and regulators linked to Dubai’s security ecosystem. Attendees included Awad Hader Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency; Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of Dubai Civil Defence; and Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs.

Leaders from operational services also joined the event, underlining cross-agency interest in private security performance. Participants included Mishal Abdulkarim Julfar, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and Khalifa Ibrahim Al Saleis, CEO of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, together with several senior representatives from the wider security sector.

The Security Professionalism and Excellence Awards used several categories to cover different job roles and seniority levels. Each category focused on measurable impact, commitment to duty and contribution to security outcomes. Collectively, the categories reflected the range of functions that support incident prevention, emergency response and safe daily operations across Dubai.

This year, one of the Intersec Awards carried the name of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, acknowledging ongoing support for the security sector. Engineer Khalid Mubarak, Senior Security Systems Engineer at Dubai Municipality, received this honour, which focuses on emerging Emirati professionals working in security and safety disciplines.

The Elite and Excellence categories highlighted individuals responsible for management and technical leadership. The Elite category recognised security professionals who advanced private security practices, with Hussain Ishak AlBloushi named winner. The Excellence category then spotlighted managers and engineers working in hospitality and real estate operations across Dubai.

Awardees included Security Supervisor Waqas Shaukat Khan of Transguard and Male Security Guard Asim Parvez of Farnek Security Services. Female Security Guard Assumpta Nshi-Kanabo of Star Security Services and CVIT Technician Mohamed Abdelmonegi Mohamed of CashTrans also received recognition.

The same Efficiency list included CCTV Operator Faisal Mohamed from Dubai World Trade Centre and Security Systems Technician Raj Chitan-Kumar Patel from AMVIN Group. A new Community category was introduced as well, honouring residents who shared stories about security professionals. In this category, Waheedullah Khan was recognised for highlighting contributions that help keep Dubai described as one of the safest and happiest cities.

Through these categories, the Security Professionalism and Excellence Awards aim to raise professional standards, support continuous learning and encourage best practice in the private security sector. The programme reinforces cooperation between government entities, regulators and service providers, while focusing attention on individuals whose efforts help maintain Dubai’s reputation for strong and reliable security.
