Dubai Pavilion At GITEX Africa 2024 Highlights Over 25 Pioneering Digital Projects
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, led a UAE delegation at the official opening of GITEX Africa 2024. The event was attended by Aziz Akhannouch, Prime Minister of Morocco, and Dr. Ghita Mezzour, Moroccan Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
The Dubai Pavilion will feature over 25 advanced digital projects and initiatives from nine entities in Dubai. These projects aim to enhance digital city experiences and solidify Dubai’s position as a global leader in this field. Al Mansoori highlighted the evolving UAE-Morocco relations, emphasizing sustainable cooperation and coordination.

Al Mansoori stated, "The UAE's relations with Morocco have evolved and become increasingly prominent and entrenched over the years, it gives an example in the fraternal relationship based on sustainable cooperation and coordination in the common interest for both sides."
Dubai’s participation at the 2nd GITEX Africa, which runs until 31st May, includes nine government entities. The Dubai Pavilion will showcase services such as "Invest in Dubai," an interactive platform by DET for investors. Dubai Civil Defence will present initiatives like Eco Readiness and Dubai Civil Defence Readiness.
DEWA will display projects including Smart Office, Smart Grid, Mobile App, Website, Dubai Digital Clouds, Cybersecurity Services, Managed Services, and Professional Services. Dubai Municipality will showcase "Build in Dubai," a unified electronic platform for construction-related services.
Participation from Various Entities
DP World will present the Dubai Trade website, featuring smart services like marine services, cargo handling services, invoicing and payment services, and free zone services. Dubai Police will showcase both the Dubai Police Application and Website. Dubai Customs will highlight its 4th Generation Services.
Global Participation
The event gathers participants from 130 countries to enhance international exchanges and collaborations. This aims to position GITEX Africa as a major platform for innovation and economic development in Africa.
