Dubai’s RTA Earns Prestigious Advanced Compliance Management Certification

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently been awarded an advanced certification in Compliance Management Maturity Assessment, signifying its leadership in the field. This certification is a testament to RTA's commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and continual improvement in compliance management. The assessment evaluated RTA's practices against rigorous local and international benchmarks, highlighting its dedication to excellence.

Shaikha Ahmed Aljarman, Executive Director of Internal Audit at RTA, elaborated on the assessment process. She explained that RTA's compliance practices were scrutinized across seven critical areas. These included the policies, procedures, and processes RTA has established to meet its objectives, senior oversight of applicable procedures, ongoing employee training tailored to requirements, and effective communication, implementation, and enforcement strategies. Additionally, the assessment covered audit, response, and prevention strategies to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

"This assessment underscores RTA's standing in compliance management and corporate governance at both regional and global levels," Aljarman stated. She emphasized that the achievement mobilizes all resources towards building an integrated and distinctive compliance management structure. The maturity measurement obtained through this certification serves as a crucial indicator of an effective compliance system and aids in enhancing the regulatory environment.

The attainment of this advanced certification marks a significant milestone for RTA, adding to its already impressive record of achievements. Notably, RTA has been a pioneer both locally and globally in adopting the ISO 37303 standard related to compliance management. Furthermore, it has implemented a uniquely designed electronic system that bolsters its compliance management capabilities and has achieved the highest levels of compliance.
