Dubai Ride 2025 Launches Dubai Fitness Challenge With Record 40,327 Cyclists Participating
The Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025 began with a vibrant start as Dubai Ride transformed Sheikh Zayed Road into a cycling track. This event, presented by DP World, saw a record 40,327 cyclists participating in its sixth edition. Cyclists of all ages and abilities rode past iconic landmarks like the Museum of the Future and Burj Khalifa under the morning sky.
Participants had two cycling options: a family-friendly 4km Downtown loop and a more challenging 12km route on Sheikh Zayed Road. The shorter route offered views of Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa, ideal for families and young riders. The longer route provided an urban cycling experience, passing architectural marvels like the Dubai Water Canal.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, expressed pride in the event's success. "Witnessing 40,327 cyclists come together this morning was a powerful reminder of what makes Dubai truly special," he said. The event exemplified how sport unites people across backgrounds and abilities, reflecting Dubai's vision of a healthy community.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of DFRE, highlighted the event's impact: "What an extraordinary way to launch Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025." He noted that thousands of cyclists on Sheikh Zayed Road showcased Dubai's passion for active living. The event turned roads into celebrations of health and unity, inspiring the city throughout November.
The event featured lively entertainment along both routes. Riders on the 4km path met mascots Modesh and Dana, while a 'Ride & Style' station allowed bike customisation. On the 12km route, MC Katie Overy energised participants at the start line. DJs Shuan and Cool Cats kept spirits high with music along the course.
Drumming groups added rhythm to the morning, while performances from The Philippine School Dubai Drum & Lyre Corps and UAE All Star cheerleading squad enhanced community spirit. An LED speed sign displayed cyclists' speeds for added fun. The Teddy Monster character entertained families in holding areas.

The event attracted notable figures from fitness and entertainment sectors. Participants included Leana Deeb, founder of Uplift You; Gary Brecka, founder of The Ultimate Human; Kayla Itsines, founder of SWEAT; and Bacary Sagna, former professional footballer. Their presence underscored the event's significance in promoting active lifestyles.
The Speed Laps segment opened with advanced cyclists maintaining an average pace of 30km/h on Sheikh Zayed Road before the main event began. This segment embodied H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for making Dubai one of the world's most active cities.
