Dubai Press Club Invites Submissions For The 25th Edition Of The Arab Media Award
The Dubai Press Club has begun accepting entries for the 25th Arab Media Award. This annual event is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The award is guided by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Award, expressed that this new cycle marks a significant milestone in the award's history. She stated, "Over a quarter of a century, the award has embodied an integrated system of professional values rooted in the highest standards of integrity and transparency, earning pride of place in the Arab world and serving as a benchmark for the most influential and inspiring media achievements."

The award maintains high standards of ethics and excellence through a rigorous evaluation process. Thousands from across the Arab region submit applications each year. Since its inception in 1999, it has become synonymous with media innovation in the Arab world. The award's criteria align with global advancements shaping the media sector.
Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, highlighted the importance of creativity in Arab media. She noted that Dubai's leadership inspires excellence and fosters a culture where bold ideas thrive. "The Arab Media Award’s continued success over the past 25 years as the most prestigious event celebrating media excellence in the Arab world makes us immensely proud," she said.
The award invites submissions in two main categories: the Arab Journalism Award and the Visual Media Award. The journalism category includes Political Journalism, Economic Journalism, Investigative Reporting, and Best Columnist. The visual media category features Best Economic Programme, Best Social Programme, Best Cultural Programme, Best Documentary Project, and Best Sports Programme.
A special category called ‘Media Personality of the Year’ recognises an influential figure who has significantly enriched regional media. Nominations are open to individuals and organisations across the Arab world via a dedicated link: https://dpc.org.ae/ar/AMA/. Entries will be judged based on strict criteria ensuring integrity and transparency.
Celebrating 25 Years
This year's edition coincides with its silver jubilee, marking a new chapter in its tradition of excellence. Dr. Buhumaid added that this milestone reflects their commitment to keeping pace with rapid advancements in media while maintaining high standards. "Celebrating 25 years of success," she said, "the award is an open invitation to all Arab media professionals to participate in shaping a new chapter of excellence."
Jasim Al Shemsi, Director of the Arab Media Award, announced that nominations close on 17 January 2026. He emphasised that since its start, it has aimed to be more than just an annual tradition but also a strategic project fostering exceptional achievements in media.
The winners will be revealed during a ceremony at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai. This event continues to lead Arab media towards new horizons by supporting societal aspirations for progress and prosperity.
